Ehsan Gholampour Mansourabad:
Ehsan Gholampour Mansourabad, a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Intelligence Organization in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, participated in violations of citizens’ rights, particularly the right to freedom of expression and the right to protest.
Use of Excessive Force on Civilians, Freedom of Expression and thought, Union’s Rights: Ehsan Gholampour, as an operational member of a team affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, has been directly involved in violations of citizens’ rights.
In one of the most prominent cases, video footage and witness testimony show that Ehsan Gholampour was involved in the attempt to violently apprehend (and without an arrest warrant) teachers’ union activist Ali Hassan on April 25, along with other security agents affiliated with Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province’s IRGC intelligence services.
Footage recorded and published after an unsuccessful attempt to arrest Ali Hassan Bahamin explicitly illustrates the severity of the violence used by the agents, including Ehsan Gholampour. As a result of this violent arrest, the hand of Ali Hassan Bahamin was severely injured. The attempt to arrest this trade unionist was made without a judicial order.
Through fact-checking and verifications procedures, a number of experts helped Spreading Justice verify the identity of Ehsan Gholampour as one of the security agents present at the scene. According to people with inside information, Ehsan Gholampour is an operative affiliated with the intelligence services of the Fatah branch of the IRGC in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province.
A reliable source told Spreading Justice that he witnessed Ehsan Gholampour confirm his identity as a person present at the scene of Ali Hassan Bahamin’s arrest in a private setting.
According to statements compiled by Spreading Justice, Ehsan Gholampour was also among the agents who also took part in the crackdown on street protesters in November 2019 in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province.
Spreading Justice has also spoken to individuals who were themselves victims of human rights abuses at the hands of the IRGC in the region. “Ehsan Gholampour, along with 50 plainclothes agents, also played a key role in suppressing the people of Likek city in the Behmei region of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province,” one of the sources quoted in the report told Spreading Justice.
At least 250 citizens participating in the November 2019 protests in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province were reportedly arrested by security and police officers.
Also, according to the testimonies of knowledgeable sources, Ehsan Gholampour is one of the directors of the Sobh-e Zagros website affiliated with the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad’s IRGC and is also responsible for the intelligence department of the Province’s Fatah Corps.
