According to the published reports, during the arrest of Fatemeh Bahmani, the IRGC agents refused to submit a warrant of arrest and confiscated her mobile phone. Before that, in February 2018, the agents of Ruhollah Corps arrested two citizens on the charge of what was called “damaging religious places”. According to the deputy public relations officer of the Markazi province, “the mentioned persons admitted that they were affiliated with the anti-revolutionary groups and were in contact with agents outside the country, and several times in the past days engaged in destructions, set fire to the door of the office of Friday Imam, set fire to a mosque, and wrote slogans on streets.” In November 2016, the intelligence office of the Markazi province arrested 17 citizens simply because of their support for the mystical group of Erfan-E-Halgheh, on the charge of “creating a deviant network”. According to the statement of the IRGC intelligence office in Markazi province, “taking into account the cultural issues and the Supreme Leader’s emphasis on protecting the rich Iranian-Islamic culture, confronting people in the field of emerging mysticism was placed on the force’s agenda.” In October 2016, 24 citizens living in Markazi Province were arrested by the IRGC agents in this province only because of their activities in the field of modeling. The IRGC agents in Markazi province also ordered the closure of nine trade unions active in the field of photography and women’s hair salons. Mohsen Karimi also announced in December 2015 about the identification of Telegram users living in the Markazi province and monitoring them by the intelligence of this province. He said: “18 percent [of these users] are non-aligned groups that often operate with anti-cultural and obscene content, and during their work they try hard to create a toxic atmosphere in the country.”Â
